Why "running blood"
I get asked this alot. I breed, raise and love
Thoroughbreds for sport horses. I ride them in dressage, jumping,
sidesaddle, judged pleasure rides and most anything else you can think
of.
Michael Martin Murphy wrote a song that I love, called "The Running
Blood" You can hear it here
as an mp3 file. It embodies everything I love
about Thoroughbreds. As he puts it in the song, "Trying
hard is
not enough, you've got to have the running blood." This
is
a reference to their ancestry and bloodlines. My herd
proudly carried the lines of some old school "stayer" blood like
Herberger, Round Table and Bold Ruler.
